Meaning

Pessimistic. Having a negative outlook on life or the future.

The opposite of 乐观 (optimistic). Describes a tendency to expect the worst or focus on negative aspects. Can be temporary or a general personality trait. Not always negative — realistic pessimism can be a form of prudent planning.
