Meaning
Sentence-final or mid-sentence particle that softens tone, expresses surprise, enthusiasm, or gentle urging.
A spoken-language variant of 啊 that occurs after syllables ending in -a, -e, -i, -o, or -ü. It adds a warm, casual, or mildly exclamatory quality to a sentence. Common in everyday speech but avoided in formal written Chinese. It can also add a slight sense of obviousness or mild wonder.
