  1. 学校 がっこう School. The general term for any educational institution from elementary to high school.
  2. 大学 だいがく University; college. Refers to higher education institutions offering undergraduate and graduate programmes.
  3. 教室 きょうしつ Classroom; lecture room. The physical room where lessons are held.
  4. 図書館 としょかん Library. A public or institutional facility where books and other materials are available for borrowing or reading.
  5. 体育館 たいいくかん Gymnasium. An indoor facility for physical education and sports activities.
  6. 試験 しけん Examination; exam; test. A formal assessment of knowledge or ability.
  7. テスト テスト Test; exam; quiz. A loanword used for shorter or less formal assessments of knowledge.
  8. 宿題 しゅくだい Homework; assignment. Work given by a teacher to be completed outside of class.
  9. 授業 じゅぎょう Lesson; class; instruction. A scheduled period of teaching at a school or university.
  10. 質問 しつもん Question; inquiry. Something asked in order to gain information or clarification.
  11. 問題 もんだい Question; problem. A question on a test, or a problem that needs to be solved.
  12. 答え こたえ Answer; reply; response. The solution or response to a question or problem.
  13. 意味 いみ Meaning; significance; sense. The definition or intended interpretation of a word or action.
  14. 言葉 ことば Language; words; dialect. Human language or a particular way of speaking.
  15. ぶん Sentence; text; composition. A written passage or sentence in a language.
  16. 文字 もじ Letter; character. A written symbol or character used in a writing system.
  17. 漢字 かんじ Kanji; Chinese character. The logographic characters adopted from Chinese and used in Japanese writing.
  18. ひらがな ひらがな Hiragana. The cursive Japanese syllabary used primarily for native Japanese words, grammatical particles, and verb endings.
  19. カタカナ カタカナ Katakana. The angular Japanese syllabary used primarily for loanwords, foreign names, onomatopoeia, and emphasis.
  20. 英語 えいご English (language). The language spoken in the UK, US, Australia, and many other countries.
  21. 日本語 にほんご Japanese (language). The language spoken in Japan.
  22. 数学 すうがく Mathematics. The academic study of numbers, quantities, and shapes.
  23. 科学 かがく Science. The systematic study of the natural world through observation and experiment.
  24. 歴史 れきし History. The study of past events, or the record of past events and developments.
  25. 音楽 おんがく Music. The art of arranging sounds in time to produce a composition.
  26. 美術 びじゅつ Art; fine arts. Refers to visual arts such as painting, sculpture, and drawing.
  27. クラス クラス Class; a group of students or a classroom session. One of the most common school-related loanwords.
  28. ページ ページ Page. Used for counting pages in books, notebooks, and documents.
  29. 練習 れんしゅう Practice; training; drill. The act of repeatedly doing something to improve a skill.
  30. 黒板 こくばん Blackboard; chalkboard. The board at the front of a classroom used by teachers for writing.
