怨言
Meaning
Words of complaint; expressions of grievance; verbal resentment. The spoken or written articulation of one's sense of being wronged or treated unfairly.
怨言 specifically denotes the verbal expression of resentment, making it more concrete than 怨气 (the feeling itself) and less emotionally intense than 怨恨 (deep hatred). 毫无怨言 (without a word of complaint) — used to praise someone who endures hardship silently — is one of the most common collocations. 发出怨言 (to voice complaints), 满腹怨言 (full of grievances to express), and 不发一句怨言 (without uttering a single complaint) are also frequently used. Central to evaluative and narrative discourse about perseverance and character.
