隐情
Meaning
Hidden circumstances; untold story; private matters kept from others. The facts or feelings behind an event that are not publicly known.
Refers to the deeper, concealed truth behind a situation — often personal suffering, complex motives, or sensitive background information. Distinct from 秘密 (secret, something deliberately kept hidden) — 隐情 may not be actively hidden, but is simply not disclosed out of privacy or complexity. Common in narrative writing, journalism, and interpersonal contexts.
