言行
Meaning
Words and deeds; speech and actions taken together. Refers to a person's expressed statements and actual conduct as a unified measure of character and integrity.
Core concept in Chinese ethics and Confucian thought. 言行一致 = to be consistent in word and deed (a virtue). 言行不一 = to say one thing and do another (a vice). 言行举止 = one's words, actions, and overall conduct/manners. Frequently used in character evaluations, moral discourse, and assessments of public figures and leaders.
