谜团
Meaning
A web of mysteries; an unsolved puzzle; a tangle of riddles. Refers to a complex cluster of unresolved questions or mysteries surrounding a person, event, or phenomenon.
Unlike 谜 (a single riddle) or 谜底 (the answer), 谜团 emphasises multiplicity and complexity — a cluster of interrelated unsolved questions. Common in investigative journalism, true crime, historical analysis, and literary contexts where mysteries compound upon each other.
