The whole ball of wax
Meaning: Everything; the entire thing or situation.
Similar to 'the whole nine yards' or 'the whole enchilada,' it means the complete package. Used to describe getting or dealing with everything at once, not just selected parts. Slightly old-fashioned but still understood.

Origin uncertain. One theory links it to an old legal practice where parcels of land were divided by hiding portions in balls of wax. Whoever selected a wax ball got whatever land was inside it. The phrase became popular in American English in the 1880s.
