vindictive
含义: Having or showing a strong desire for revenge; deliberately cruel or spiteful.
Vindictive describes a person or action motivated by a desire to harm someone who has wronged them. It implies pettiness and malice — going beyond justified anger to deliberate cruelty. 'Vindictive behaviour,' 'a vindictive streak,' and 'vindictive remarks' are common collocations. Not to be confused with 'vindicated' (proven right). The word is always strongly negative and suggests a character flaw rather than a momentary lapse.
