avant-garde
含义: New and experimental ideas and methods in art, music, or literature; the people or works that pioneer such innovation.
The avant-garde has always existed in tension with the mainstream, pushing boundaries and challenging conventions. What was once considered avant-garde often becomes accepted and even mainstream over time — the Impressionists, for example, were considered shockingly avant-garde in the 1870s. The term can be used as both a noun and an adjective, and often carries connotations of intellectual daring or deliberate provocation.
