archetype
含义: A very typical example of a certain person or thing; an original model or pattern from which copies are made.
Archetype has roots in Jungian psychology, where it refers to universal, inherited symbols and patterns in the collective unconscious — the Hero, the Mother, the Trickster. In literary criticism, archetypes are recurring character types or narrative patterns. In everyday usage, it simply means a quintessential example: 'He is the archetype of the self-made entrepreneur.' The adjective form is 'archetypal.'
