anode
含义: The positively charged electrode through which conventional electric current flows into a device; in electrolysis, the electrode at which oxidation occurs.
The anode is one half of every electrochemical system, paired with the cathode. In a battery discharging current, the anode is the negative terminal (where oxidation occurs), but in electrolysis the anode is connected to the positive terminal of the power supply. This apparent contradiction frequently causes confusion. Anodes are central to technologies including batteries, electroplating, corrosion protection (sacrificial anodes on ships), and aluminium smelting. In vacuum tubes and diode valves, the anode is the plate that collects electrons.
