absolutist
含义: A person who holds that certain principles or values are universally valid and not subject to qualification, compromise, or contextual interpretation. Historically, a supporter of absolute monarchy.
Absolutist functions in two distinct registers. In political history, it describes supporters of monarchical systems without constitutional limits — the absolutism of Louis XIV being the classic example. In modern debate, it refers to anyone who refuses to compromise on a principle: a free-speech absolutist, a moral absolutist. The term often carries an implicit critique of inflexibility.
