absolutism
含义: The philosophical belief that certain principles or values are universally true and not dependent on context; also, a system of government in which a ruler holds unrestricted power.
In ethics, moral absolutism holds that certain actions are intrinsically right or wrong regardless of circumstances — in contrast to relativism. In political history, absolutism refers to the concentration of all authority in a single ruler, as exemplified by Louis XIV of France. The word carries different connotations depending on context: in philosophy it is a neutral term, while in politics it often implies tyranny.
