Pick-me
含义: A person who puts down their own group to win approval from the opposite gender.
A 'pick-me' person (often 'pick-me girl' or 'pick-me boy') distinguishes themselves from their own gender by claiming to be different. A pick-me girl might say 'I'm not like other girls, I actually like sports.' A pick-me boy might say 'I'm not like other guys, I actually respect women.' The criticism is that they're performing a role for validation rather than being genuine.
