Jive
含义: Deceptive or insincere talk. Nonsense. Can also mean a style of dance or music.
In AAVE, jive can be used as a noun (the talk itself), adjective (jive talk = dishonest talk), or verb (to jive = to deceive). 'Jive turkey' was a classic 1970s insult for someone full of nonsense. While the word feels retro today, it remains in use and has deep cultural significance in Black American linguistic history.

起源与历史
Jive originated in AAVE in the 1920s-1930s, originally referring to jazz-influenced speech patterns and music. By the 1940s, it took on the meaning of deceptive talk. 'Jive talk' became part of the jazz and Harlem Renaissance culture. The Cab Calloway Hepster's Dictionary (1938) helped codify jive vocabulary.
