Carpool lane
含义: A highway lane reserved for vehicles carrying two or more people, also known as an HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane.
The carpool lane — marked by a diamond symbol — is the express lane of American highways. Using it with only one person in the car is a ticketable offense that ranges from $200 to $1,000+. Some desperate commuters have been caught using mannequins or inflatable dolls in the passenger seat to fake a second occupant.
