Meaning: Something heard; to produce a noise; healthy or reliable
'Sound' as a noun is what we hear with our ears. As a verb, it describes how something seems when heard ('that sounds good'). As an adjective, it means in good condition or sensible ('sound advice', 'safe and sound'). 'Sound asleep' means sleeping deeply.
