Meaning: Not clean; covered with or containing unwanted substances
Dirty describes something that is soiled, stained, or contaminated. Beyond its literal meaning, it can also describe behaviour that is dishonest or unfair, as in 'dirty tricks' or 'dirty politics.' In informal British English, 'dirty' can intensify words, such as 'a dirty great lorry' meaning a very large truck.
