Meaning: Complete and total; not limited by conditions or exceptions
Absolute means complete, total, or without any limitations. 'Absolute power' means unlimited authority. 'Absolute certainty' means having no doubt whatsoever. In British informal speech, 'absolute' is used for emphasis: 'absolute rubbish!' The adverb 'absolutely' is commonly used to strongly agree: 'Absolutely!'
