suggestive
Meaning: Tending to suggest or imply something without stating it directly; indicating the presence of something. Also, making one think of sexual matters, often in a way considered improper.
Suggestive has two distinct registers. In academic and medical writing, 'suggestive of' introduces evidence that points towards a conclusion without confirming it: 'symptoms suggestive of meningitis.' In everyday and cultural usage, it often refers to sexual innuendo or provocative behaviour: 'suggestive remarks,' 'a suggestive dance.' The context usually makes the intended sense clear. It collocates with 'suggestive of,' 'sexually suggestive,' 'suggestive evidence,' and 'suggestive behaviour.'
