implicit
Meaning: Implied or suggested without being directly or openly stated, requiring the listener or reader to infer the meaning from context.
Implicit communication relies on shared knowledge, context, and inference. It is the opposite of explicit, where meaning is stated outright. In psychology, 'implicit bias' refers to unconscious attitudes that influence behaviour. In contracts and agreements, implicit terms are those understood to apply even though they are not written down.
