hostility
Meaning: Unfriendly or aggressive feelings or behaviour towards someone or something; (in plural) acts of warfare.
Hostility can describe a personal attitude of unfriendliness ('hostility towards newcomers'), a general climate of opposition ('public hostility to the proposal'), or, in the plural, actual military combat ('hostilities ceased after the armistice'). 'Open hostility,' 'mutual hostility,' and 'hostility towards' are standard collocations. In business, a 'hostile takeover' involves acquiring a company against the wishes of its management.
