franchise
Meaning: A licence granted to an individual or group to sell products or services under an established brand name; also the right to vote in political elections.
In business, a franchise allows someone (the franchisee) to operate under the brand, systems, and support of an established company (the franchisor) in exchange for fees. Fast-food chains are classic franchise models. In politics, the franchise refers to the right to vote — extending the franchise historically meant giving more people voting rights.
