dosage
Meaning: The size or frequency of a dose of a medicine or drug; the administration of a substance in measured amounts.
Dosage refers to the regimen of how much medicine to take and how often, whilst 'dose' refers to a single measured quantity. Correct dosage is critical in medicine — too little may be ineffective, whilst too much can be dangerous. The term is also used figuratively, as in 'a healthy dosage of scepticism.' Dosage guidelines consider factors such as age, weight, and the severity of the condition.
