devotee
Meaning: An enthusiastic and dedicated supporter or follower of a particular activity, interest, or person.
Devotee implies passionate commitment and is warmer than 'adherent' but less extreme than 'fanatic.' It is most commonly used for cultural pursuits, hobbies, and cuisine — a devotee of opera, a devotee of French cooking. In religious contexts it retains its original sense of fervent spiritual dedication. The word is almost always followed by 'of.'
