deliberation
Meaning: Long and careful consideration or discussion before reaching a decision; slow and measured action that shows careful thought.
Deliberation has two related senses. First, the process of thoughtful discussion, especially by a formal body such as a jury, committee, or parliament. Second, the quality of acting with careful, unhurried intention — moving with deliberation suggests purposeful, measured movement. Both senses emphasise the value placed on careful thought over haste. Common collocations include 'after much deliberation,' 'jury deliberations,' 'careful deliberation,' and 'with great deliberation.'
