candid
Meaning: Truthful and straightforward; frank in expressing opinions. Also: (of a photograph) taken informally, without the subject posing.
Candid has two main uses. In conversation and writing, it means honest and open, often about uncomfortable truths (a candid assessment, a candid interview). In photography, it describes unposed, spontaneous images. The word generally carries a positive connotation of refreshing honesty. It collocates with 'assessment,' 'interview,' 'admission,' 'photograph,' 'conversation,' and 'about.'
