appendix
Meaning: A section of supplementary material at the end of a book, report, or document; also, a small tube-shaped organ attached to the large intestine.
In academic and professional writing, an appendix contains supporting material such as raw data, questionnaires, maps, or detailed calculations that would disrupt the flow of the main text. The plural is 'appendices' (Latin) or less formally 'appendixes.' Each appendix is typically labelled with a letter (Appendix A, B, C).
