wanton
의미: Deliberate and unprovoked; showing a reckless disregard for justice, morality, or the rights of others. Historically also used to describe a sexually immoral person, especially a woman.
Wanton in modern English most commonly modifies acts of destruction or cruelty: 'wanton vandalism,' 'wanton disregard,' 'wanton destruction.' The emphasis is on the senselessness and deliberateness of the act — the damage was done knowingly and without justification. The older sexual sense (a 'wanton woman') is now largely archaic or literary. In law, 'wanton' conduct is more culpable than negligence because it implies awareness of the risk. It collocates with 'wanton destruction,' 'wanton disregard,' 'wanton cruelty,' and 'wanton vandalism.'
