unwittingly
의미: Without being aware of what one is doing or the full consequences of one's actions; unknowingly.
Unwittingly emphasises ignorance rather than carelessness — the person simply did not know. It is commonly used in espionage stories (unwittingly recruited as an informant), fraud cases (unwittingly complicit in a scheme), and historical narratives (unwittingly set in motion a chain of events). It is slightly more literary than 'inadvertently' and often carries a note of dramatic irony when the reader knows what the subject did not.
