sanguine
의미: Optimistic or positive, especially in a difficult situation; historically, having a blood-red complexion associated with a cheerful temperament.
Sanguine is one of the four classical temperaments (alongside choleric, melancholic, and phlegmatic), originally linked to an excess of blood. In modern usage, it almost exclusively means optimistic — often with a hint that the optimism may be misplaced. 'Not entirely sanguine' and 'less than sanguine' are common understated British ways of expressing doubt or concern.
