palpation
의미: The act of examining a part of the body by touch, especially as part of a medical diagnosis, to assess the size, shape, firmness, or location of organs and detect abnormalities.
Palpation is one of the four classical methods of clinical examination, alongside inspection, percussion, and auscultation. A doctor might palpate the abdomen to check for an enlarged liver or spleen, or palpate the neck to assess the thyroid gland. The technique requires trained hands and is considered an essential clinical skill taught from the earliest years of medical school. It collocates with 'abdominal,' 'bimanual,' 'deep,' and 'superficial.'
