malignant
의미: In medicine, of a tumour, tending to invade normal tissue and spread to other parts of the body; cancerous. More broadly, evil in nature or effect; malevolent.
Malignant is the medical opposite of 'benign.' Malignant tumours are dangerous because they can metastasise — spreading cancer cells to distant organs through the bloodstream or lymphatic system. Outside medicine, the word carries a strong negative connotation, describing influences, intentions, or forces that are deeply harmful. Related forms include 'malignancy' (noun) and 'malign' (verb or adjective).
