intubation
의미: The insertion of a tube into the body, most commonly into the trachea (windpipe) to maintain an open airway or to administer anaesthesia or mechanical ventilation.
Endotracheal intubation is the most frequently referenced form, performed during general anaesthesia, emergency resuscitation, or intensive care. The procedure requires specialised training, and failed intubation is a recognised critical incident. The term also applies to nasogastric intubation (tube through the nose into the stomach). It collocates with 'endotracheal,' 'rapid sequence,' 'difficult,' and 'emergency.'
