equivocate
의미: To use ambiguous or deliberately unclear language in order to avoid committing to a particular position or to mislead without technically lying.
Equivocate is closely related to 'prevaricate' but with an emphasis on the strategic use of ambiguity — choosing words that can be interpreted in more than one way. In historical and philosophical usage, equivocation is a recognised logical fallacy. The word is common in political commentary and legal analysis, where the precise meaning of statements is scrutinised.
