census
의미: An official count or survey of a population, typically recording details such as age, gender, ethnicity, occupation, and housing, conducted at regular intervals by a government.
In the UK, the census has been conducted every ten years since 1801 (with the exception of 1941 during the war). It is administered by the Office for National Statistics in England and Wales, and provides essential data for government planning, resource allocation, and social research. The 2021 census was the first to be primarily conducted online. Census data is a crucial resource for historians, genealogists, and social scientists.
