alienation
의미: A feeling of being isolated, estranged, or disconnected from the people, institutions, or values of one's society; in Marxist theory, the estrangement of workers from the products and processes of their labour.
Alienation is a foundational concept in sociology and philosophy. Marx argued that capitalism alienates workers by separating them from the fruits of their labour, from the act of production, from their fellow workers, and from their human potential. In broader usage, alienation describes any sense of disconnection — voter alienation from politics, youth alienation from mainstream society. Existentialist philosophers like Camus and Sartre explored alienation as a fundamental condition of modern life.
