Tag questions and indirect questions

소개

부가의문문(tag questions)은 대화 영어, 특히 영국 영어의 특징적인 표현이에요. "It's nice, isn't it?"처럼 문장 끝에 짧은 질문을 붙여서 정보를 확인하거나 동의를 구하는 거죠.

간접의문문은 정중한 요청이나 격식 있는 상황에 필수예요. "Where is the station?" 대신 "Could you tell me where the station is?"라고 물어보는 거예요——어순이 바뀌는 게 핵심이에요.

한국어에서는 "~죠?", "~그렇죠?"로 간단하게 확인할 수 있지만, 영어의 부가의문문은 동사에 따라 형태가 달라져요. 이 질문 형식들을 익히면 영어가 훨씬 대화스럽고 상황에 맞는 표현이 될 거예요.
