소개

질문하기와 부정문 만들기는 어떤 언어에서든 가장 기본적인 기술이에요. 영어에서 질문을 하려면 보통 어순을 바꿔야 하고, 부정하려면 "not"을 올바른 위치에 넣어야 해요.

한국어는 "-니?", "-야?" 같은 어미를 바꾸면 되지만, 영어는 주어와 동사의 위치를 바꾸는 등 문장 구조 자체가 달라져요. 부정문도 단순히 "안"을 붙이는 게 아니라 조동사를 찾아서 "not"을 넣어야 하죠. 처음엔 복잡해 보이지만 패턴은 몇 가지 안 돼요.

이 챕터에서는 Yes/No 의문문, wh-의문문(what, where, when 등), 그리고 모든 문장을 부정형으로 바꾸는 방법을 배워요. 나중에 만나게 될 부가의문문이나 간접의문문의 기초가 되는 패턴들이에요.
