Simple passive constructions

소개

수동태는 동작을 하는 사람에서 동작을 받는 대상으로 초점을 옮기는 표현이에요. "The chef cooked the meal(셰프가 식사를 만들었다)" 대신 "The meal was cooked (by the chef)(식사가 (셰프에 의해) 만들어졌다)"라고 할 수 있어요.

한국어의 "-되다", "-지다", "-받다" 같은 피동 표현과 비슷하지만, 영어에서는 수동태를 훨씬 더 자주 써요. 격식 있는 글, 뉴스 보도, 그리고 누가 했는지 모르거나 중요하지 않은 상황에서 특히 많이 사용돼요.

기본 단계에서는 현재형과 과거형 수동태를 배울 거예요. 일상에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 수동태 패턴이에요. 딱딱한 글에서만 나오는 게 아니라 일상 대화에서도 생각보다 자주 등장해요.
