Zero and first conditionals for facts and real possibilities

소개

조건문은 "만약 ~하면 …한다"는 관계를 표현하는 문장이에요. 기본 단계에서 배울 유형은 두 가지: 사실과 일반적 진리를 나타내는 영조건문(Zero Conditional)과 실현 가능한 미래를 나타내는 제1조건문(First Conditional)이에요.

한국어에서는 "만약 ~면"으로 거의 모든 조건을 표현할 수 있지만, 영어는 조건의 종류에 따라 동사 시제가 달라져요. 영조건문은 양쪽 다 현재형: "If you heat water, it boils." 제1조건문은 "if + 현재형, will + 동사원형": "If it rains, I will stay home."

이 두 패턴이면 현실 세계의 "만약" 상황은 거의 다 커버할 수 있어요. 가정법(만약 ~였다면)은 나중에 배우니까, 먼저 이 두 가지를 확실히 잡아봅시다.
