Major
의미: A student's primary field of study in college, chosen as the focus of their degree.
'What is your major?' is the defining question of American college life. Your major determines your classes, your peer group, your career path (supposedly), and your identity. 'I am a biology major' or 'I majored in English' is how people introduce their college background. Choosing a major is stressful — it feels like choosing your future. 'Undeclared' is a major itself for students who have not decided yet. 'Changing your major' is extremely common, with many students switching two or more times.
