Ivy League
의미: A group of eight prestigious Northeastern universities known for academic excellence and elite status.
The Ivy League — Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Penn, Brown, Dartmouth, and Cornell — represents the pinnacle of American higher education prestige. 'She went to an Ivy' is shorthand for extreme academic achievement and social status. The term has expanded beyond the actual eight schools to describe anything elite. Ivy League education carries enormous social capital but also enormous cost and expectations. Getting into an Ivy is the dream (or obsession) of countless American high school students.
