頼もしい
Meaning: Dependable or reassuringly strong — used to express that someone gives you confidence through their strength or reliability.
While similar to 頼りになる, 頼もしい has a slightly more emotional, heartfelt nuance — it emphasises the feeling of reassurance and security that someone gives you. Often used by seniors praising juniors who have grown, or by anyone watching someone perform reliably under pressure. It conveys pride mixed with gratitude.
