apparent
意味: Clearly visible or obvious; seeming to be true but not necessarily so
Apparent has two related meanings. It can mean clearly visible or obvious to anyone ('her apparent distress'). It can also mean seeming to be true or real, but not necessarily actually so ('his apparent honesty' might later prove false). This second meaning introduces an element of doubt. 'For no apparent reason' means without any obvious cause.
