repression
意味: The unconscious exclusion of painful memories, thoughts, or desires from awareness; also the act of subduing or suppressing people, movements, or freedoms by force.
In psychoanalysis, repression is considered the most fundamental defence mechanism, operating entirely outside conscious awareness. Repressed memories remain in the unconscious and may influence behaviour without the person's knowledge. In political contexts, repression refers to the systematic use of force or authority to control or restrict a population, as in 'political repression.'
