reactionary
意味: Opposing political or social progress and seeking to return to a former, usually more conservative, state of affairs. As a noun, a person who holds such views.
Reactionary is almost always pejorative, used by progressives and centrists to describe those who resist reform or wish to reverse it. It is stronger than 'conservative,' implying an active desire to roll back change rather than merely to slow it. In political theory, reactionaries are distinguished from conservatives (who defend the status quo) by their nostalgia for an idealised past. The term is common in political journalism and academic history. It collocates with 'reactionary politics,' 'reactionary forces,' 'reactionary views,' and 'reactionary backlash.'
