percentile
意味: A value below which a given percentage of observations in a data set falls. For example, the 90th percentile is the value below which 90% of the data lies.
Percentiles are widely used in education, healthcare, and statistics to compare individual scores against a broader population. A child in the 75th percentile for height, for instance, is taller than 75% of children in the reference group. The term is distinct from 'percentage,' which simply represents a proportion out of 100. It commonly collocates with ordinal numbers and words like 'rank,' 'score,' and 'distribution.'
