memoir
意味: A written account of personal experiences and memories, typically focusing on a particular period, theme, or relationship rather than covering an entire life.
Memoir differs from autobiography in scope: whilst an autobiography covers the subject's whole life, a memoir focuses on specific experiences or themes. The genre has become enormously popular, with memoirs about illness, grief, travel, food, and identity regularly appearing on bestseller lists. The plural 'memoirs' can refer to a single work or to multiple collected recollections. In academic contexts, a memoir may also be a scholarly essay or a record of proceedings.
